Homemade Foolproof No Knead Bread

I don’t know why but making bread has always intimated me so I have simply never tried it. If you are wanting to start your sourdough bread journey but also intimated, this is your place to start. This recipe is literally foolproof and was so easy to bring together. Try baking this for your next soup night and see just how easy it is!

You Need:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 tsp active dry yeast

dry oregano to taste

1 3/4 cups warm water (between 100 - 110 degrees F. If the water isn’t the right temp, the yeast will not activate)

addition flour for dusting counter

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast. Mix with a whisk until combined. Add in oregano and give a gentle stir. Next, add in the water and mix with a spatula until a sticky dough forms. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let rest for 3 hours or overnight. I stick mine in my microwave or oven thats off. After the dough has risen 3 times its size, uncover it and flour the counter. Place dough on counter and generously sprinkle the flour to top. Since this is a no knead recipe, simple move the dough around and lightly work the dough until and ball forms. Place your dough into a lined oven safe dish and place the dish into a cold oven. Now, turn on the oven to 450F once the bread is inside. Bake the bread with the lid on for 30 minutes, After 30 minutes, remove the hot lid from the dish and bake the bread uncovered for another 25 to 30 minutes. Once the bread is done, remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Your bread should come out all light and golden with a nice crisp on the edges. Slice and enjoy topped with butter and flakey sea salt!
